Chapter 5: Recording/Playback

You can enable or disable the limiter function on each channel (1 through 4) by pressing the [SHIFT] key followed by the [PAN] key. On the other hand, you can enable or disable the limiter function on stereo bus by pressing the [SHIFT] key followed by the [LINK] key.

When the limiter function is active, the [LIM.] indicator of the corresponding input channel (as well as the stereo channels) is lit. When the limiter is actually working, the [LIM.] indica- tor flashes quickly.

Adjusting the input gain (for channels 1 through 4)

Using the [GAIN] control, you can adjust the input gain for each channel. The nominal input level can be adjusted within the following range.

When the LINE-MIC switch is set to "LINE": -32dBu to +4dBu

When the LINE-MIC switch is set to "MIC": -34dBu to -70dBu

[GAIN] control

Adjust the input gain of each channel appropriately so that the corresponding [PEAK] indi- cator does not flash or light in red.
