Introduction

If the server does not operate correctly, re-read the instructions for the procedures you have performed. If an error occurs within a program, refer to the documentation supplied with the program. This section identifies solutions to some possible problems.

Troubleshooting checklist

Before turning on the server, make sure that:

The power cord is connected to the AC power-in connector and an AC outlet.

The AC outlet is supplying power.

If a power strip is used, it is turned on.

If the power supply has a voltage selection switch, the voltage selection switch reflects the proper voltage.

Verifying your configuration

If the server is not operating correctly, the BIOS may contain an invalid configuration parameter. Open the BIOS Setup utility and check your configuration settings. (See “About the BIOS Setup utility” on page 111.)
