When you select and install DIMMs, keep the following in mind:

■Registered DIMMs should not be combined with unbuffered DIMMs.

■Memory must be installed in complete banks (four DIMMs at a time), from bank A to bank D.

■No jumper settings are required for the memory size or type because the BIOS automatically detects this information.

■16 GB maximum system memory.

Memory banks are arranged as shown in the figure below.

1Turn off the server and disconnect the power cord and all other external peripheral devices.
