Tell Me About Hardware Error InformationWhen the hardware error icon is flashing, the six icons that normally display the amount of ink in the ink cartridges are used instead to give more information about the hardware error.
When the hardware error icon flashes, make a note of the pattern of squares displayed in the ink cartridge icons, including any squares that are flashing, and then press the Power key.

If the problem persists, run the HP Designjet System Maintenance utility, as described in “How Do I Use HP Designjet System Maintenance?” on page 40. You will need the information from the ink cartridge icons that you noted previously.
