Memory Gap: Some ISA network adapters need to be mapped in system memory address space, normally at the upper end. Since the ISA bus is limited to 24-bit addressing (0-16 MB), systems with more than 16MB of memory installed will not accommodate these adapters.

When enabled, this selection will remap system memory such that a gap is created between the addresses of 15 and 16MB. This gap is then used to map the I/O space on the adapter into this area.

3.1.3 Security

The Security option allows the user to:

Set the supervisor password. Set the power on password. Modify the diskette access rights. Set the fixed disk boot sector.

To reach the security panel from the Advanced - Peripherals panel:

Press ESC to quit the Peripherals menu. Press ESC again to quit the Advanced menu. Use the arrows keys to select the Security menu. Press Enter.

A screen like the one in Figure 27 will appear:
