SET WAN CONNECTION TYPE
CONNECT TYPE:
This enables you to choose your connection style.
AUTO: Dynamic IP from DHCP server, no dialing necessary.
MANUAL: Static IP, no dialing needed. Enter the Wide Area Network (WAN) IP Address, Subnet Mask, ISP Gateway Address, and DNS values. You can obtain all the above data from your ISP.
PPPOE: Needs dialing. If your ISP uses
NAME:
Move the focus to "ENTER" and go to the "NAME SETTING" page.
This enables you to set the "HOST" and "DOMAIN" names.
NOTE: Provide a host name (also called system name or account name) and the ISP domain name (e.g. www.isp.com) if your ISP requires this information.
IP SETTING:
Enter and go to the "WAN IP SETTING" page.
Set the "WAN IP", "WAN MASK", "ISP GATEWAY", "DNS 1”, “DNS 2”, and “DNS 3" addresses.
NOTE: If CONNECT TYPE is set to MANUAL, this function will work.
VIRTUAL SERVERS:
Enter the "VIRTUAL SERVER SETTING" page. Set the "PUBLIC PORT", "PRIVATE IP", "PRIVATE PORT", and "PROTOCOL" entries.
To allow traffic from the Internet to enter your local network to connect internal devices, such as NVR or LANCAM, you will need to open up ports or the router will block the request. For example, consider an assumed LAN network with two devices, NVR and LANCAM, that have LAN IP addresses 192.168.1.205 and 192.168.1.168, respectively. The http ports of the two devices are of the default settings (80). NVR's WAN port connects to the Internet with a WAN IP 100.0.0.2.
Two public ports, say 2000 and 2001, are assigned to NVR and LANCAM for identifying internal devices from the Internet.
The settings should be set like the followings.
Public | Private | Private | Protocol |
Port | IP | Port |
|
2000 | 205 | 80 | TCP |
2001 | 168 | 80 | TCP |
The URLs are used to connect to NVR and LANCAM listed below:
NVR → http://100.0.0.2:2000
LANCAM → http://100.0.0.2:2001
