Updating the System

IMPORTANT: NEC Express5800/ft series is a precision instrument. You should ask maintenance personnel to update the system.

You will need to update the system after you repair the system using Recovery Console.

IMPORTANT:

Make sure to follow the steps below when you have restored the system by using Recovery Console.

Check the configuration for boot monitoring function.

If [Boot Monitoring] selected in [Monitoring Configuration] of [Advanced] is not set to “Disabled”, disable it. See “Disable Boot Monitoring Function” (4-11) for details.

1.Log on to the system with OS installed as user with Administrative account.

IMPORTANT: Check that the dual system is configured properly. (Check that STATUS LED 2 of each PCI module stays green.)

2.Remove duplication of LAN for both onboard and option boards.

IMPORTANT: When dual LAN is disabled, a setup of LAN will be deleted. Note down the setup information.

1)Display the [Intel(R)PROSet II] dialog box.

2)Start up one of the following start menu modes by according to its procedures.

Standard startup menu mode:

Click [Start] and select [Control Panel], and then [Intel(R)PROSet II].

Classic start menu mode:

(1)Click [Start] and select [Settings], and then [Control Panel].

(2)Double click the [Intel(R)PROSet II] icon.

3)Remove all adapters from Duplication.

Right-click the following adapters on the control tree which is located on the left side of the [Intel(R)PROSet II] dialog box and select [Remove from Team].
