Thisfeature enables discs to belocked for children.

WhenChild Lock is on, a 4-digit code (PIN) needs to be entered

beforea disccan be played.

Youcan alsodecide whether the inserteddisc should always be played

orshould beplayed only once,despite the child lock

•)'Playalways':

Thisdisc isstored in amemory with spacefor 50 child-safediscs. If

morethan 50 discs are stored, the last disc in the list is removed and

thenew disc is added. The screen shows 'Child safe' at the start of

playback.

•)'Playonce':

Thisdisc isonly authorised for singleplayback. If therecorder is

switchedoff, the PINcode must bere-entered.

Activating/deactivating child lock

Preparation:

•)The TV set is switched on, and if necessary, the programme number for the

DVDrecorder has been selected.

•)the DVD recorder is switched on.

1Press TUNERand then SYSTEM MENU on the remote

control.If playbackfrom a disc starts automatically, remove the

disc(button OPEN/CLOSE J).

PThemenubar appears on thescreen.

2Selectthe 'A' icon using Dor C.

PThe'SYSTEM MENU' appears.

3Select'(Disc features)' using Bor Aand confirm with C.

9Quitthe feature using Dand SYSTEM MENU.

Unauthoriseddiscs can onlybe played byentering the four-digitPIN

code.

Todeactivate the child lock, select the '' icon in 7.

Authorising a disc

1Inserta disc. The access control box will appear after a short

delay.

2Using Aor Bselect'Play once'or'Playalways'.

3Enteryour PIN codeusing the number buttons 0..9 .

Double-sidedDVDs may have a different ID for each side. For these

discs,each side must be authorised. Video CDs may have a different ID

foreach disc. For these CDs, eachdisc must be authorised.

Locking unlocked discs

Tolock adisc that wasformerly authorised follow the instructions

below

1Inserta disc.Playback startsautomatically. If the playbackdoes not

startautomatically, press PLAY G.

2Pressthe STOP hbutton while the ''icon is visible.The

iconchanges to ''.The disc is now locked.
