Archiving (storing) titles on a

DVD+RW/+R

Youcan choose the title of the HDD that you want to transfer on a
DVD+RW/+R.The copying process is done at a higher speed than the
recording.Therefore, you cantransfer an 8-hour recording in 'M8'
recordingmode on a DVD+RW/+R in just 30 minutes. This time
dependson the recording mode used.
Pleaseobserve the followinginformation:
Youcannot change the recording quality. You can only use the
samerecording quality that was used for recording on the HDD.
Newrecordings will alwaysbe addedat theend of existing ones.
Ensurethat the 'Emptytitle' afterthe lastrecording is large
enough.
Theindex picture from the title will be copied from the HDD and
storedon the disc.
Shouldyou reachthe maximumnumber of chapters per disc (255),
therecordings will be transferred without chapter markers.
Thefollowing informationwill also bestored on the disc in the
process:
Chapter,recording mode, programmename (if available)title of
therecording (name), date and time of the recording, index
picture.
If youarchive the edited title, the 'hidden' chapters will be skipped
andwill no longer be available on the DVD+RW/+R.
1Changethe titles in the media browser to meet your preferences.
(dividetitles, change title name, hide chapter,...)
2Inserta DVD+RW/+Ron whichyou want to store the selected
titles.
Pleaseensure that:
•)the DVD+RWwas not protected against accidental recordings.
Formore information, read the next section 'Preventing accidental
erasingof discs'.
•)there is enough space for all selected titles at the end of the
DVD+RW/+R.
3Press BROWSERHDD .
PThemedia browser appearswith an overview of all recordings
onthe HDD.
4Selectthe title you want to copy on the DVD+RW/+R using B,
A.
OIf you want to archive several titles at a time, mark the desired
titleswith SELECT .
Whatis the orderof archiving?
Thetitles will be transferred to the DVD+RW/+R in the same order as
theywhere selected using the SELECTbutton.
5Startthe archiving process by pressing the green function button.
If this buttonis not visible on the screen, check if this title is
availablein the 'Time shift Buffer'. If necessary switch of the set
using STANDBYmor use the 'Flush Buffer' function (button
SYSTEMMENU , menu 'Set up')
PAmessage indicating the process appears both on the screen
andin the display.
PDuringand after the archiving process, you see the TV show
ofthe currentlyselected TV channel.The buttons D,C,
JUMPBACK ,JUMP FWD ,PLAY G,PAUSE 9are
withoutfunction during archiving.Timer recordings will take
place.
Interruptthe process
Pressthe yellow function button. If necessary call up the informatoon on
thescreen using the INFObutton.
Finalisinga DVD+R
Ifrecordings were stored(archived) on aDVD+R you have to finalise it
tomake playback ina DVD-Playerpossible.
-Press DISC MENU and then STOP hto mark the first title.
-Press Ato go to the 'disc info screen'
-Press Cand select then the line 'Finalise disc' using B.
-Confirn with OK .

Protect disc against accidental

recordings

Toprevent anaccidental erasing of important recordings, you can
protectthe entire disc.It is only possible to protect the entire disc.
Protectingspecific recordings on a disc is not possible.
Whathappens with DVD+Rdiscs?
Aslong as these discs are not finalised, you can protect them against
accidentalrecording.
1Insertthe disc to be protected.
2Press STOPhon the remote control while the index screen is
displayed.
PThefirst titleis highlighted.
3Press A.
PThistakes you to the disc info screen.
4Press C.
Select'Protection'.
Confirmwith C.
5Select'Protected' using Band confirmwith OK.
6Press Dandthen DISCMENU to terminate.
PTheentire disc is now protected.
If you attemptto recordon a protected disc, 'DISC LOCK' will
appearon the display and 'Disc locked' on the screen.
Ifyou decidelater to recordon thisdisc again, repeat theabove steps
butselect 'Unprotected' at step5.
