Setting the time
If the display shows an incorrect time or '--:--', the time and date must
bereset manually.
SMARTCLOCK
'SMARTCLOCK' automatically sets the time and date using the information
transmittedby the TV channel. Normally the TV channel stored at
programmenumber 'P01' is used.In the 'Clockpreset' line you can
selectthe programme number (channelname) whose TV channel transmits
thisinformation.
Ifthe time/date is not displayed correctly you need to choose the 'Off'
settingin the 'Clockpreset' line and set the date and time manually.
1Pressthe BROWSER HDD buttonand then the SYSTEM
MENUbutton on theremote control.
PThe'SYSTEM MENU' appears.
2Select'Set up' using B.
3Press Ctoselect 'System'.
4Selectthe line 'Installation'using Band confirm with C.
PAmessage appearson the screenthat this settingwill flush the
'TimeShift Buffer'.
OIf the'Time Shift Buffer ' contains important recordings, save
themwith the REC/OTR nbutton first. Read additional
informationto the 'Time Shift Buffer' in the chapter 'The Time
ShiftBuffer'.
5Select'Yes' with Dand confirm with OK .
OIf the messagewindow was closed, confirm the line with
Cagain.
6Select'Time/Date' using Bor Aand confirm with C.

Connection using a component video(Y Pb Pr/YUV) cable (no progressivescan)
Componentvideo (Y PbPr) isthe highestquality picture transmission
option.This isachieved by dividingthe video signalinto a luminance
signal(Y) and twocolour difference signals- red minusluminance (V)
andblue minus luminance (U). As a rule, "Cr, Pr" or "R-Y" is used to
describethe red difference signal and "Cb, Pb" or "B-Y" the blue
differencesignal.
Thesesignals aretransmitted through separatelines. The connectorsof
thiscable and the corresponding sockets are usually green (luminance,
Y),blue (U, Pb, Cb, B-Y),and red (V, Pr, Cr, R-Y).
Attention!
If you choose this type of connection, the DVD recorder must already
beconnected andcompletely installed (initial installationcomplete).
Switchingof the signalto the COMPONENTVIDEO OUT sockets is
carriedout in a menu that is not yet available during the initial
installation.
