13Preparing the remote control foroperation

Theremote control and its batteries are packed separately in the

originalDVD recorderpackaging. You mustinstall the batteriesin the

remotecontrol before use - described in the following section.

1Takethe remote control and the enclosed batteries (2 batteries).

2Openthe battery compartment, insert the batteries as shown and

thenclose the battery compartment.

Theremote control is now ready to use.

Itsrange is approximately 5 to 10 meters.

'Aim'correctly

Aimthe remote control at the DVD recorder and not at the TV set.

Using your DVDRecorder remote control

with your TV set

Withthe enclosedmulticode remote control you can controlthe main

functionsof your TV set. To do this, you must first enter a code

numberthat corresponds to the make of your TV set.

Youwill find a summary of all available remote control codes on the

lastpage of this manual.

1Holddown the STANDBYmbutton.

2Usingthe number buttons 0..9, enter the code number that

correspondsto themake (manufacturer)of yourTV set.

3Whenyou have entered the code number check that, the TV set

willresponds to the TVVOLUME ror TV

VOLUMEqbuttons.

aMyTV set will not react

bAlsotry to enter the other code numbers or that of other

manufacturers.

bInsome cases,it ispossible that yourTV set will not react to the

selectedcode numbers. If this is the case, you unfortunately cannot

usethis function.

aHowcan I reset the code?

bEnterthe number 000.

Ifyou remove the batteries, the selected code will be stored for about 5

minutesbefore resetted to 000.

4Youcan selectone of the following functions:

TVVOLUME qincrease the TV volume

TVVOLUME rdecrease the TV volume

Forthe following functions you need to hold down the •

TVbutton (on the left side) and then select the function you need

withthe appropriatebutton.

STANDBYmswitch off the TV set

CHANNELqnext programme number

CHANNELrprevious programme number

Additionallyon Philips TV-sets:

T/C switchTeletext (TXT) on/off

TIMERsClock display on the screen on/off

RETURN Toreturn to the previous menu step

SYSTEMMENU Callup the System Menu from the TV

TUNER Switchngthe TV from the external sockets to
