18Connecting additional devices only viaaerial cable
If you want to connect additional devices (e.g. satellite receiver...) only
viaaerial cable, please observe thefollowing:
TheDVD-Recorder must be connected directly to the TV set. If there
isa video recorder or an additional device in between, the picture
qualitymay be poor because of the copy protection system built into
theDVD-Recorder.
Theadditional device (satellitereceiver) must beconnected before the
DVDrecorder (additional device - DVD recorder- TV set). Only the
TVset mustbe connectedto the TVOUT socket.
If thereis interference in the picture when the additional device is
switchedon, aTV broadcastermay be transmittingon thesame
channelor a channelvery close to thatof the additionaldevice. (e.g.:
TVbroadcaster on channel45, additionaldevice (satellite receiver)
alsoon channel 45). In this case, change the channel of the additional
device(satellite receiver). Consult theinstruction manual of the
additionaldevice.
Youmust alsostore this channelon theDVD recorderto be able to
recordTV programmesfrom the additionaldevice (satellite receiver).
Switchon the additional device during the installation of the DVD
recorder.During the automatic channel search, the channel on which
theadditional device is transmitting will be stored as a TV channel.
Connect camcorder to the frontsockets
Tocopy camcorderrecordings, you can use the front sockets. These
socketsare located behind the flap on the right hand side.
Recordingsfrom the front sockets were stored on the HDD to make
editingeasy. Then youcan transfer(archive) them on a DVD+RW/+R.

Digital (DV) input socket

If youhave a DV or Digital 8 camcorder, connect the DV IN
(CAM2)input of the DVD recorder to the appropriate DV output on
thecamcorder.
Choose'CAM2' as a programme number for this input.
Duringrecording on the HDD or a DVD+RW/+R the original
recordingdate and time arestored asDVD subtitles.
Onplayback, thisdata can bedisplayed on the TV screen by using the
'E'function (Subtitle).

Svideo input socket

If youhave a Hi8 or S-VHS(C) camcorder, connect the S-VIDEO
(CAM1)input of the DVD recorder to the appropriate S-VHS output
onthe camcorder.
Youmust alsoconnect the audioinput L AUDIOR (CAM1)on the
DVDrecorder to the audio output on the camcorder.
Choose'CAM1' as a programme number for this input.

Video (CVBS) input socket

If youhave a camcorder that only has a single video output (Composite
Video,CVBS), connect the VIDEO (CAM1)input on the DVD
recorderto the appropriate output on the camcorder.
Youmust alsoconnect the audioinput L AUDIOR (CAM1)on the
DVDrecorder to the audio output on the camcorder.
Choose'CAM1' as a programme number for this input.
