Displaying the curren t IP address and the MAC address of a L AN Docking Station
To display the current IP address as signed to a LAN Docking Stat ion and its MAC address, slide
a Digital pocket Memo 960 0 or 9620 into the docking slot an d press the MENU button and th e
RIGHT SMART BUTTON on t he Digital Pocket Memo simult aneously.
The LAN Docking Station co nfiguration window does not show u p in the Web
browser when entering the I P address
Verify if the Docking Sta tion is connectd to the mains power su pply.
Verify if you use the correct ne twork cable. Only use a crossove r cable, when you directly
connect the LAN Dock ing station to the PC.
Check your TCP/IP configura tion. If you do not use DHCP, do you have configured th e LAN
Docking Station accordi ng to your network policy? If you use DH CP, has the DHCP Server
assigned an IP-address t o the LAN Docking Station? (se arch for the IP address)
If you use DHCP (the default), ha s the DHCP server assigned a n IP address?
Can you ping the IP address in th e Command window?
Verify if you can enable er ror logging on the target FT P server to find the cause of the
problem.
The LAN Docking Station co nfiguration window can be open ed but files created on
the Digital Pocket Memo are no t transferred to the targe t FTP Server
Verify if the FTP serve r is running on the target file ser ver.
Verify if the FTP serve r is set up correctly (Setting s of: user names, user pass words, port
number, dictation target fol der, folder access and write rights).
Verify if the FTP address of t he FTP server configured cor rectly in the LAN Docking S tation.
Verify if the firewall betwe en the LAN Docking Stati on and the target FTP server i s open for
FTP trac (deault por t 21).
Verify if the LAN Dock ing Station has full access and wr ite rights to the target file folde r of the
FTP Server.
Verify if there is a proxy server between the LAN Docking Station and the target FTP server. Can
the proxy be configured in “transparent mode” to allow the LAN Docking Station to connect?
Can you enable logging o n the FTP server to find the cause o f the problem?
