Appendix C. Alarm Testing Procedure
The following procedure is available if the operator wants to test the operation
of the following alarms. We recommend following “Preoperational Procedure”
on page 8-32 before performing the Alarm Testing procedure. It is assumed
that the preoperational procedure has been run before the Alarm Testing
Procedure is followed.

Setup

1. Connect O2 supply to the Respironics V200 Ventilator.
2. Connect optional O2 sensor.
3. Run EST.
4. Attach the test lung to the patient wye. (Use the test lung provided
with your system.)
5. Use the following settings:
Mode VCV-A/C
Tidal Vol: 400ml
High Pressure (HIP): 50cmH20 (hPa)
(or higher if required by the test lung)
Rate: 10 Bpm
Low Insp Press: 3 cmH20 (hPa)
Peak Flow 40 Lpm
PEEP: 4 cmH20 (hPa)
Low PEEP: 2 cmH20 (hPa)
Low Vt Mand: 0 mL
PSV: 0 cmH20 (hPa)
Low Vt Spont: 0 Lpm
I-Trigger: 2 cmH20 (hPa)
High Rate: 150 Bpm

2: 21%
Low VE: 1 L
Insp. Hold: 0 sec.
Apnea: 15 sec.
Apnea Rate: 20 Bpm
