Once the Bottom Scanner is aligned, the Top Scanner (or paper guide if a corresponding Top Scanner is not fitted) must be positioned so that the sheet being scanned is kept at a controlled distance from the scanner.

This is achieved by adjusting the Top Scanner as described on page 5-19, but to a setting 10mm (3/8”) different to the Bottom Scanner setting. For example, if the Bottom Scanner is set to 70mm, set the Top Scanner to 80mm.

When setting the Top Scanner, use the appropriate adjustment scale depending on the location of the Bottom Scanner: The front scale for a Front Bottom Scanner and the rear scale for a Rear Bottom Scanner.
