Unit 5: Troubleshooting

ERROR SIGNALS

Error No.	LCD Display			Description
		Head Open error
		Cause(s):	1.	The head unit is not properly latched.
07			2.	Malfunctioning head-open switch.
		Remedy:	Properly latch the print head and/or replace the switch.
		Alarm sound:	Three short beeps.
		External signal:	Machine error.
		Paper End error
		Cause(s):	1.	The media supply has run out.
08			2.	The media is not set correctly.
		Remedy:	Set the media correctly.
		Alarm sound:	Three short beeps.
		External signal:	Paper end.
		Ribbon End error
		Cause(s):	1.	The ribbon supply has run out.
09			2.	The ribbon has been damaged.
		Remedy:	1.	Set the ribbon correctly.
			2.	Clean the ribbon path.
		Alarm sound:	Three short beeps.
		External signal:	Ribbon end.
		Sensor error
		Cause(s):	1.	Incorrectly adjusted paper sensor.
			2.	Incorrectly selected media sensor.
10			3.	Erratic paper flow.
		Remedy:	1.	Adjust sensitivity of paper sensor.
			2.	Select correct sensor type for media being used.
			3.	Clean the paper path to establish a smooth paper flow.
		Alarm sound:	Three short beeps
		External signal:	Machine error
		Head related error
11		Cause:	There is a problem with the print head.
		Remedy:	Clean and/or replace print head.
		Alarm sound:	One long beep.
		External signal:	Machine error.
