5-5 Cleaning the Head

nCleaning the head

Clean the head according to the following procedure.

CAUTION:

•Do not clean the head immediately after printing; the head may be hot.

Open the roll-paper cover, raise the auto-cutter and the head-open lever. If roll paper is loaded, remove it from the head area.

Clean the heating element of the head with a cotton swab containing an alcohol solvent (ethanol, methanol, or IPA).

•Clean the cutter also with an alcohol solvent.

CAUTION:

•Never touch the head; oils on your skin can damage the head.

Push the head-open lever down. Reload roll paper and close the roll-paper cover. See 3-l.
