Using the Jog Dial™

Your CLIÉ handheld is equipped with a Jog Dial™, which allows you to perform all major operations wi thout

the stylus. You can operate your CLIÉ handhe ld using the Jog Dial™ with just one hand.

The icon of any application that supports Jog Dial™ operations is marked with the Jog Dial™ symbol .

For other applications, you can also use the JogAs sist function to enable Jog Dial™ operations. For details,

see Changing the Jog Dial™ preferences (page109).

Rotating the Jog Dial™

Rotate the Jog Dial™ to select various items in succession or to select an application to

start. The operations you can perform by ro tating the Jog Dial™ differ depending on the

application you are using. For details, refer to the instructions for each app lication.

Pressing the Jog Dial™

Press the Jog Dial™ to highlight the item or to run the application you sele cted by

rotating the Jog Dial™. The operations you can carry out by pressing the Jog Dial™ differ

depending on the application you are using. For details, refe r to the instructions for each

application.
