Communicating using your CLIÉ handheld

Receiving beamed information

To receive beamed information, proceed as follows:

1Turn on your CLIÉ handheld.

2Point the IR port directly at the IR port of the other Palm™ OS® PDA hand held transmitting the data.

The Beam dialog box is displayed. Beaming data starts. You can select the category in which you save

the data in a dialog box.

3Tap Ye s.

The data is saved to the unfiled category.

Incoming data or application should be pl aced in the Unfiled category.

You can press the Address Book button for about two seconds to be am your business card.

You can use Graffiti® to beam the current entry ( then ,or and then tap ).

If Beam Receive in the Preferences menu is set to Off, you cannot receive data using the beaming feature. Before beam ing data, make sure you

set Beam Receive to On.
