Entering a password

The Password box identifies the password you use to log into your server or ISP. Your entry in this field

determines whether your CLIÉ handheld pro mpts you to enter a password each time you log into your

network:

If you do not enter a password, your CLIÉ handheld displa ys the word Prompt in this field and asks you

to enter a password during the login procedure.

If you enter a password, your CLIÉ handheld displays the word Assigned in this field and d oes not

prompt you to enter a passw ord during the login procedure .

If you are concerned about security, select the Prompt option and do not enter a passw ord.

To assign a password, proceed as follows:

1In the Network Preference s screen, tap the Password field.

2Enter the password you use to log into your server.

3Tap OK.

The Password field changes to display th e word Assigned.

Selecting a connection

Use the Connection setting to select the method you want to use to connect to your Internet Serv ice

Provider or a dial-in server.

To select a connection, proceed as follows:

In the Network Preference s screen, tap the down arrow next to Connection and then select the

connection you want to use.
