Using HotSync® operations

What is a HotSync® operation?

HotSync® is a technology which automatically synchronizes CLIÉ handheld application data with the Palm™

Desktop for CLIÉ software data on the computer.

You can reduce the time required for com pleting a HotSync® by limi ting the transfer to only the necess ary data.

Performing a local HotSync®

This section describes how to perform a HotSync® operation using the cradle (local HotSync®), a ssuming that

you have done all the necessary preparations an d installations for your CLIÉ handheld and your compute r.

For the required preparations and software installation, and for information on performing a HotSync® for

the first HotSync® operation, please see the Read This First manual.

To perform a local HotS ync® operation, proceed as follows:

1Place your CLIÉ handheld in the crad le.

2Press the HotSync® button on the front panel of the cradle.

The HotSync® operation starts.
