This section describes how to solve common problems you ma y encounter when using your CLI É handheld.

Many problems have simple solutions, so try these suggesti ons before you call Sony Customer Information

Services Center.

Thousands of third-party add-on applications ha ve been written for the Palm™ OS platform. So ny does not support such a large n umber of third-

party applications. If you have any proble ms with a third-party application , please contact the developer o r publisher of that software.

Operating problems

I do not see anything on the screen

Try each of these in turn:

Tap the contrast adjustment icon and adjust t he contrast.

Recharge the unit.

If your CLIÉ handheld still does not operate, try a soft reset.

My CLIÉ handheld has frozen

Perform a soft reset.

My CLIÉ handheld keeps turning itself off

Your CLIÉ handheld is designed to turn itself off after a period of inactivity. This period can be set at o ne,

two, or three minutes.

My CLIÉ handheld is not making any sound

Check the System Sound setting.
