Starting an application on the Memory Stick™
To open an application on the Memory Stick™ from the Application Launcher scree n, tap the arrow in
the top right-hand corner of the A pplication Launcher screen and select Card (or a category with the Card
icon). Then tap the icon of the application you wa nt to open.
If the application you are about to open was installed on the Memory Stick™ through a HotSync® operation, some applications may not start.
Formatting a Memory Stick™
Formatting defines the recording format for the Memory Stic k™ so that you can access data with your CLIÉ
handheld. Commercially available Memory Sticks™ are already formatted, so you can use them immediately.
However, you may have to reformat your Memory Stick™ at some point.
To format a Memory Stick™, proceed as follows:
1Insert the Memory Stick™.
2Tap th e Home icon .
The Application Launcher appears.
3Rotate the Jog Dial™ to select MS Gate.
4Press the Jog Dial™.
MS Gate starts up.
5Tap th e Menu icon.
6Tap Opt ion, then Format.
The confirmation message appears.
7Tap OK.

When you format a Memory Stick™ on which data is already stored, all data will be deleted. Be careful th at you do not delete important data by
mistake.
