Communicating using your CLIÉ handheld

Beaming information

You can beam a record, business card, or category of records betw een your CLIÉ handheld and another

Palm™ OS PDA.

To beam data from your CLIÉ handheld to a nother Palm™ OS PDA, proceed as follows:

1Locate the record, business card, or category you want to beam .

2Tap th e Menu icon.

3Tap one of the following from the Record menu:

The Beam command for an individual record

In Address Book only: Beam Business Card

Beam Category.

4When the Beam dialog box appears, point the IR port directly at the IR port of the receiving handh eld.

5Wait for the Beam dialog box to indicate that the transfer is complete before you continue working on

your CLIÉ handheld.

For best results, your CLIÉ handheld and another Palm™ OS PDA should be 4 to 8 inches (approxima tely 10 to 20 centimeters) apa rt, and the path

between the two handhelds must be clear of obstacles and shielded from fl uorescent lighting. Beaming distance to other Palm™ OS PDA handhelds

may be different.
