CHAPTER 1—OVERVIEW

The following sections update the information in this chapter.

Features

RAID-protected data disks The nTier700 includes up to six sets of high- performance disk drives mounted in removable enclosures called blades. For security, the blades can be locked to prevent unauthorized removal.

A minimum of one blade must be installed in the nTier700. Each blade contains ten 1 Terabyte (TB) or 2 TB disk drives. The drives in each blade are preconfigured as a single NTFS-formatted RAID 6 NAS volume.
