8. Another way to test the connection is to enter the query *idn? or
similarquery in the GPIB Communications web page and click
Send. The Response field should indicate an appropriate
response.
InstallationOptions
After the AD007 GPIB-LAN Adapte r is set up on the network and
connectedto the GPIB you may proceed with either one, or both, of
the followinginstallation options:
HEnabledirect GPIB-to-network printing. Proceedto Operating
Basicssection that begins on page 33 and access the PrinterSetup
webpage.
HEnablefull GPIB-LAN communication. Proceed to the next
section, InstallingTekVISA Software.
Installing TekVISASoftware
Except for direct GPIB-to-network printing, all applications that
communicate over the network to the AD007 adapter must use the
Tektronixve rsion of VISA(TekVISA). See the AD007 section in the
TektronixSoftware Solutions Installation manual (Tektronix part
number071--1140--01) forinstructions on installing the TekVISA
software. Youcan install TekVISAon any number of PCs.
NOTE. If you have installedTektronix WaveStarfor Oscilloscopes,
then you do not need to install TekVISA separately; TekVISA is
automaticallyinstalled when WaveStarfor Oscilloscopes is installed.
NOTE. Do not install the TekVISAsoftware if you do not want to
overwrite your presentV ISA. The programdetects any previous
versions of VISA and overwrites them with TekVISA.
