Confirming a Hardware/Firmware FailureDefectivehardware or firmware can cause the adapterto indicate a
self-test failure as follows:
HNo indicators light during power on
HThe indicators light and remain amber
HThe LAN-Link, LAN, and GPIB indicators blink red after the
self-test at power on.
Toconfirm a hardware or firm ware failure, do these steps:
1. Supply power to the AD007 adapter.
2. If no indicators light, check power connections at the foll owing
components:
a. line source to power cord
b. power cord to power supply
c. power supply to the DC input jack on the back of the
AD007adapter
3. If indicators light, wait 30 seconds for the sel f-test to complete.
Blinking indicators at the beginning of power on indicate t hat the
hardware self-test is in progress.
4. Toindica te a successful self test, the LAN-Link, LAN, and GPIB
indicatorssimultaneously blink green before automatically
starting the LAN discovery (DHCP/BOOTP request) loop. See
Table2.
5. Toindicate a hardware failure in the adapter,the adapter will
indicate one or more of the following
a. The LAN-Link, LAN, and GPIB indicators simultaneously
blinkred after the 30-second self test is complete.
b. All indicators light and remain amber.
c. The LAN-Link, LAN, and GPIB indicators do not
simultaneously blink green before beginning the LAN
discovery.
