Appendix E: Packing for Shipment

If you ship the OA5000, pack it in the originalshipping carton and packing

material. If the originalpacking material is not available, package the instru-

ment as follows:

Step 1: Obtain a corrugated cardboard shippingcarton with inside

dimensions at least15 cm (6 in) taller, wider, and deeper than the

OA 5000. The shipping carton must be constructedof cardboard with

375 pound test strength.

Step 2: If you are shipping the OA 5000 toa Tektronix field office for

repair,attach a tag to the OA 5000 showing the instrument owner and

address, the name of the person to contact aboutthe instrument, the

instrument type, and the serial number.

Step 3: Wrap the OA 5000 with polyethelene sheetingor equivalent

material to protect the finish.

Step 4: Cushion the OA 5000 in the shippingcarton by tightly packing

dunnage or urethane foam on allsides between the carton and the

OA 5000. Allow 7.5 cm (3 in) on allsides, top, and bottom.

Step 5: Seal the shipping carton with shippingtape or an industrial

stapler.
