Setting Attenuation LevelsBecause the OA 5000 automaticallyadjusts the attenuator to correct for
different wavelengths, it isimportant, for attenuator accuracy, to correctly
match the displayed wavelength with the wavelength ofthe signal going into
the unit.
Setting attenuation levelson the OA 5000 requires you to perform two
procedures in the followingorder:
1. Specify the wavelength of the signalto be attenuated.
2. Set the level of attenuation.

Thisbutton sets

Theseknobs set the

Thisbutton assigns the
ATTENUATIONdisplay to
eitherabsolute units or
units relative to the
referencelevel.
Usethis button to assign the
knobsto adjust the
wavelength.

Tospecify the wavelength to be attenuated:
Step 1: Pressthe WAVELENGT H button.
The word SEt will appear inthe attenuation display and the WAVE-
LENGTH button will illuminate.
