5 Select “Local printer” or “Network printer” according to the type of

printing mode.

When the machine is connected in the local area network with the TCP/IP protocol, select “Local printer”. Printing can be performed using the TCP/IP Printing. See “When Using the TCP/IP Printing” and continue the installation.

When the machine is connected to the Internet or Intranet, select “Network printer”. Printing can be performed using the IPP, Internet Printing Protocol. See “When Using the IPP” and continue the installation.

When Using the TCP/IP Printing

When the printer is connected to the local area network with TCP/IP, printing can be performed

by designating the TCP/IP port.

Select “Local printer”.

Check off “Automatically detect and install my

Plug and Play printer”.

Select “Create a new port” and select

“Standard TCP/IP Port” at “Type”,

then click on [Next].

The Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard

appears.
