Advanced Features

Advanced features that are supported by the printer:

Automatic tray switching – see page 40.

Using custom paper sizes – see page 43.

Offsetting of output sent to the Face-down bin or Finisher – see page 45.

Cover Sheets

This feature allows you to have the first page of your document printed on different paper stock. In this way, you can specify the paper size or media type used for the front cover of the document.

Edge-to-Edge

This feature prints text and images to the physical edge of the page. If not selected, the printer defaults to predetermined printable areas for each paper size. When printing edge-to-edge, there may be some loss of data at the edge due to mechanical and physical restraints.

N-Up

This feature forces the printer to print the specified number of pages on a single physical sheet of paper. It is useful for previewing a document’s layout. To select this feature in the Windows driver, specify the pages per side from the drop-down list. You can specify 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16 pages per side or booklet printing.
