The SNMP Trap Host is a trap management station that receives and processes traps. Traps are system alerts that the Baytech device generates when certain events occur. By default, no trap manager is defined, and no traps are issued. Up to four SNMP Trap Hosts maybe assigned to receive traps. Select a “SNMP Trap Host”, the DS will display the following, Default address is (0.0.0.0) for all Hosts.

SNMP community strings authenticate access to MIB objects and function as embedded passwords. In order for your SNMP script/software to access the Baytech SNMP, the community string definitions on your SNMP script/software must match the Baytech SNMP string definitions.
Select ‘SNMP Read Only Community’ option to enter a Read Community string, the DS displays the current setting, Default is public.
