NORMAL RECORDING

Normal Recording

Before starting

œTurn the power on to all devices used.

œLoad a cassette tape with its erasure-prevention tab intact.

NOTES:

œIf “TAPE IN MODE” is set to “REC” in the (GENERAL SET) menu, recording will start.

œPress the ON SCREEN button to display the superimpose display.

œSet the “TAPE” item in the (GENERAL SET) menu according to the duration of the tape used.

1 Press the REC/PLAY SPEED l (or j) button to set the recording speed mode.

øThe recording speed mode appears on-screen and on the digital display.

2Press the REC button.

øThe record indicator mlights.

øRecording starts.

øIf the tape end is reached while recording,

“OFF” is displayed on the digital display and the unit goes into the mode set at the “TAPE END MODE” setting in the (GENERAL SET) menu. To cancel the “OFF” display, press the STOP, EJECT or PLAY button or turn the SHUTTLE ring.

øWhen the end of the tape is reached, the TAPE END OUT terminal output will be 0V. To cancel the output, press the STOP button.

3To stop recording, press the STOP button.

NOTES:

œA tape recording made on this VCR may not play back with the same degree of clarity on a real time video cassette recorder from another manufacturer.

œIf you press the REC button and the loaded cassette has no erasure-prevention tab, the VCR will eject the cassette.

œThe available recording speed modes vary depending on the VCR model. Refer to the “FEATURES” on page 3 for the available recording speed modes for your model of VCR.

NOTE:

œThe tape speed display will vary according to the “TAPE” item in the (GENERAL SET) menu setting. In this manual, all the examples and displays used are for when the “TAPE” item is set to “T-160”. If set to “T-120”, please refer to the table above for the corresponding durations and displays.

For example, if the recording speed mode is “8”, then the corresponding recording speed when set to “T-120” will be “6”, and, the counter reading of

8H 00M 00S will be 6H 00M 00S when set to “T-120”.
