TROUBLESHOOTING

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

WARNING

To avoid injury from an accidental start, turn the switch “OFF” and always remove the plug from the power source before making any adjustment.

Consult Hitachi Authorized Service Center if for any reason the motor will not run.

PROBLEM

Noisy operation

Incorrect belt tension.

Adjust tension. See Section

Loose spindle pulley.

Check tightness of retaining nut on pulley,

 

 

 

 

and tighten if necessary.

 

3.

Loose motor pulley.

Tighten set screw in motor pulley.

 

 

 

 

 

Drill bit burns

1.

Incorrect speed.

1.

Change speed. See Section “BASIC DRILL

 

 

 

 

PRESS OPERATION - SPINDLE SPEEDS”

Chips not coming out of hole.

Retract drill frequently to clear chips.

Dull drill bit.

Run out of drill bit point -
