Chapter 2. Installation
Power Up
Each FSU unit is provided with a captive eight-foot power cord, terminated by a three-prong plug which connects to a grounded 115 VAC power receptacle.
Power to the FSU must be provided from a grounded 115 VAC, 60 Hz receptacle.
REAR PANEL
The FSU is equipped with three DB-25 connectors labeled DTE 1, DTE 2, and DCE. Connections to the dedicated circuit, dial backup circuit (future enhancement), and VT 100 interface are provided through the 8-pin telco jacks labeled MAIN, BACKUP, and CONTROL. Pin assignments for these connectors are given in the appendix Pinouts. The FSU rear panel is shown in Figure 2- 1.
The FSU base unit (part number 1200130L1) is not equipped with an internal DSU. Therefore, the MAIN and BACKUP connectors are not provided.
The BACKUP connector is provided for future enhancements (FSU dial backup options).
