Section 30 : Using the Agilent Technologies Demostration Unit with the AGILENT 35670A

Several of the sections in this User’s Guide are best explained with live data using transducers and machines. Because it is usually impractical to bring machinery into a laboratory for training purposes, the Agilent Technologies Demonstration Unit with the Dynamic Signals Test Disc #1 (The Red CD) provides a practical alternative.

This section describes the AGILENT Demonstration Unit and how to use it. The most important strating point is to MAKE SURE THE DEMONSTRATION UNIT IS GROUNDED TO THE AGILENT 35670A! This can be done via software by grounding Channel 1 via the Input, FRONT END CH1 SETUP. Alternatively a BNC can be connected from the AGILENT 35670A Source output to the Demo Unit’s notch filter.

To set up the Demonstration Unit, follow these instructions:

1.Plug in the Discman power supply and insert the power connector in the receptacle on the back of the Demonstration Unit.

2.Insert the Dynamic Signals I CD in the Sony Discman, close the cover and press the play/pause button.

3.Refer to the summary below to determine, for each section of the User’s Guide, the recommended track, port to connect the left CD output channel, and port to connect the right CD output channels.

4.Select track repeat mode (Play Mode 1) by pressing the PLAY MODE button on the front of the Discman twice until “1” appears in the Discman’s LCD display
