Assessing Measurement Quality

Measurement quality is described by coherence, which varies from 0 to 1. To set up a coherence display, follow these steps:

Press the [Meas Data] hardkey.

Press the [COHERENCE 2 / 1] softkey (F7).

A coherence value of 1 means the response measured by Channel 2 was due to the excitation of Channel 1. A coherence of 0 means that none of the response of Channel 2 was due to the input measured by Channel 1.

Burst random excitation usually exhibits excellent coherence unless non-linearities are excited.
