Testing the phone

1Start the E6474A software.

2Refer to “Identifying devices" on page 81, and perform the procedure if you have not already done so.

3Configure the Autodialing options in the Properties dialog box. Click Help in the dialog box for instructions.

4Open the view that shows signal parameters:

5For CDMA, click View > CDMA Phone Status.

6For GSM, click View > GSM Signal.

7For iDEN, click View > iDEN Signal Parameters.

8For TDMA, click View > IS 136 Phone.

9Click View > Call Stats to open the call statistics view.

10Click Log > Start Logging.

Passing the test

In the signal parameters view, you should see an indication of signal strength and other air interface parameters. The Call Stats view indicates the call progress and call termination results. If all calls are logged as “blocked,” verify that service for the phone has been activated, and that the phone’s battery is fully charged. Also recheck all cable connections.

Click Log > Stop to end the test.
