Using the access Point Mode
Note: This advanced feature s hould be employed by advanced user s
only. The Router can be co nfigured to work a s a wireless net work
access point. Using th is mode will defea t the NAT IP sharing f eature and
DHCP server. In AP mode, t he Router will nee d to be configure d with an
IP address that is in th e same subnet as the rest of the n etwork that you
will bridge to. The defau lt IP address is 192.168.2.254 and subnet mask
is 255.255.255.0. These can be customized for your need.
1� Enable the AP mode my se lecting “Enable” in the “Use as Acc ess
Point only” page. When yo u select this op tion, you will be ab le to
change the IP settings .
2� Set your IP settings to match your network. Click “App ly Changes”.
3� Connect a cable from the WAN p ort on the Route r to your existing
network.
The Router is now acting as an access p oint. To access the Ro uter
advanced user interf ace again, type t he IP address you specified into
your browser’s navigation ba r. You can set the encr yption settings, MAC
address filtering, SSI D, and channel nor mally.
