setting your Internet service Provider (IsP) Connection Type to Dynamic IP
A dynamic connection type is the most common connect ion type found wi th cable modems. Setting the conn ection type to “d ynamic” in many ca ses
is enough to complete th e connection to yo ur ISP. Some dynamic con nection types m ay require a host name. You can enter you r host name in th e
space provided if you we re assigned one. Your host name is ass igned by your ISP. Some dy namic connectio ns may require tha t you clone the MAC
address of the PC that w as originally con nected to the mod em.
1� Host Name (1)
This space is provided to enter a host na me that needs to b e visible to
your ISP. Enter your host name he re and click “Apply Changes” (3). If
your ISP did not assign you a host name, o r you are not sure, leave this
blank.
2� Change WaN MaC address (2)
If your ISP requires a s pecific MAC addre ss to connect to the service,
you can enter a specif ic MAC address or clone the curren t computer’s
MAC address through thi s link.
