Configuring Internal forwarding settings
The Virtual Server s function will a llow you to route exte rnal (Internet)
calls for services s uch as a web ser ver (port 80), F TP server (Por t 21), or
other applications thro ugh your Router to your internal net work. Since
your internal computer s are protected by a firewall, compute rs outside
your network (over the Inte rnet) cannot get to them because th ey cannot
be “seen”. A list of common applications has been provided in case you
need to configure the V irtual Server function for a s pecific applicat ion.
If your application is n ot listed, you will n eed to contact t he application
vendor to find out which port settings you need.
Choosing an application
Select your applicatio n from the drop- down list. Click “Add”. The
settings will be trans ferred to the nex t available space i n the screen.
Click “Apply Changes” to save the setting for that application. To remove
an application, selec t the number of the row that you want to remove
then click “Clear”.
Manually entering settings into the Virtual server
To manually enter settings , enter the IP addr ess in the space provided
for the internal (serve r) machine, the po rt(s) required to pass (use a
