1� If the “modem” LED is blinking, and the “ internet” LED is solid,
but you are unable to ac cess the Internet , there may be thi rd-
party firewall soft ware installed o n the computer at tempting to
access the Internet. E xamples of third -party firewall software are
ZoneAlarm, BlackICE PC Protection, McAfee Personal Firewall, and
Norton Personal Firewa ll.
2� If you do have firewall sof tware installed on your computer, ple ase
make sure that you prope rly configure it. You can determine if
the firewall software is preventing Intern et access by temp orarily
turning it off. If, while t he firewall is disa bled, Internet ac cess works
properly, you will need to change the firewal l settings to func tion
properly when it is tu rned on.
3� Please refer to the inst ructions provide d by the publisher of your
firewall software for instructions on c onfiguring the f irewall to allow
Internet access.
If you are still unable to access the Inter net after disab ling any firewall
software, please con tact Belkin Technica l Support.
I can’t connect to the Internet wirelessly�
If you are unable to conn ect to the Interne t from a wireles s computer,
please check the follow ing items:
1� Look at the lights on your Router. If you’re usi ng a Belkin Router,
the lights should be as follows:
• The“router”LEDshou ldbeon.
• The“modem”lightsho uldbeon,andnotblinkin g.
• The“internet”LEDsh ouldbeon,andnotblink ing.
• The“Wireless”light shouldbeon,notblinki ng
2� Open your wireless uti lity software by clicking on the icon in the
system tray at the bottom , right-hand corne r of the screen.
3� The exact window that op ens will vary de pending on the mo del of
wireless card you have; h owever, any of the utilitie s should have
a list of “Available Networks”—those w ireless network s it can
connect to.
