I can’t connect to the Internet wirelessly, but my network name is listed�
If the name of your netwo rk is listed in th e “Available Networks” l ist,
please follow the steps below to connect w irelessly:
1� Click on the correct n etwork name in th e “Available Networks” l ist.
2� If the network has secur ity (encryption) enabled, you will need to
enter the network key. For mo re information re garding securit y, see
the section entitled “C hanging the Wirel ess Security S ettings”.
3� Within a few seconds, the t ray icon in the lowe r, left-hand corner
of your screen should t urn green, indic ation of a succes sful
connection to the netwo rk.

not listed�
If the correct networ k name is not liste d under “Available Net works” in
the wireless utility, ple ase attempt the f ollowing troublesh ooting steps:
1� Temporarily move computer, if p ossible, five to 10 fee t from the
Router. Close the wireless utility, and reopen it. If the corre ct
network name now appea rs under “Available Ne tworks”, you may
have a range or interfe rence problem. Pl ease see the sug gestions
discussed in the sect ion titled “Place ment of your N+ Wire less
Router” of this User Ma nual.
2� Using a computer that is c onnected to the Ro uter via a networ k
cable (as opposed to wi relessly), ensure that “Broadcast SSID” is
enabled. This setting is found on the Ro uter’s wireless “Ch annel
and SSID” configuratio n page.
If you are still unable to access the Inter net after comple ting these steps,

Network (VPN) c onnection�
Wireless technology i s radio-based, w hich means conne ctivity and
the throughput perfo rmance between devices decreas es when the
distance between devi ces increases. Other factors th at will cause sign al
degradation (metal is g enerally the wor st culprit) are ob structions such
as walls and metal app liances. Note also that connection speed may
decrease as you move far ther away from th e Router.
In order to determine if wireless issue s are related to ra nge, we suggest
temporarily moving the computer, if possibl e, five to 10 feet from the
Router.
Changing the wireless channel—Depending o n local wireless traffic
and interference, switc hing the wireles s channel of your network can
improve performance a nd reliability. The default channel the Router
is shipped with is cha nnel 11; you may choose from several other
channels depending on your region. See the section on pa ge 39 entitled
“Changing the Wireless Channel” for inst ructions on how to choose
other channels.
