Installing an InfiniBand Switch Module

Note You can install gateways in slots 2 (second from left) through 13 (second from right). Populate your Cisco SFS 3012R Server Switch from left to right.

Step 6 Push the gateway module firmly into the slot. The ejector lever begins to close.

Step 7 Push the ejector lever up until it clicks into place.

Step 8 Follow the procedures in Chapter 4, “Viewing and Updating the Software Image” to update or verify the software image on the gateway module.

Note All cable connections to Ethernet gateways must use shielded RJ45 CAT5 Ethernet cables.

Installing an InfiniBand Switch Module

To install an InfiniBand switch module, perform the following steps:

Step 1 Ground yourself using an approved ground wrist strap.

Step 2 Remove the blanking panel if one resides in the slot with a number 1 Phillips-head screwdriver. Step 3 Remove the switch module from any packaging.

Step 4 Extend the ejector levers on the left-hand side and on the right-hand side of the switch module completely.

Step 5 Insert the switch module into slot 15 or slot 16 such that the ejector levers sit on the bottom of the switch module.
