158 Troubleshooting Your System

Check the configuration settings, make any necessary corrections, and
restart the system.
If the problem is not resolved, continue to the next step.

Remove the bezel. See "Removing the Front Bezel" on page69.

Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system
from its electrical outlet.

Open the system. See "Opening and Closing the System" on page 70.

Ensure that the controller card is firmly seated in its connector. See "SAS
Controller Daughter Card" on page84.

If present, ensure that the RAID battery is properly installed and
connected.

Verify that the cable connections between the SAS/SATA backplane(s) and
the SAS controller daughter card are correct. See "Installing a SAS
Controller Daughter Card" on page84.

Ensure that the cables are firmly connected to the SAS controller daughter
card and the SAS/SATA backplane board.

Close the system. See "Opening and Closing the System" on page 70.

Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet, and turn on the system and
attached peripherals. If the problem persists,

Error message indicates a problem with an expansion card.
Expansion card performs incorrectly or not at all.
