X16-C Input/Output Modules
TheMatrixX16‐CsupportsInput/OutputModules(IOM)whichperformallsystempacket
forwarding.TheX16‐Cprovides16slotstoinstalltheIOMs.
PhysicalconnectorsfortheseEthernetIOMsinclude:
•SingleandMultimodeFiber(SMF,MMF),10‐GigabitFormFactorPluggables(XFP)
• SMF/MMF,1‐GigabitFormFactorPluggables(SFP)
SupportedtransceiversforXFPandSFPconnectorsare:
•SerialMMFat850nmwavelengthwitha65‐meter(213‐foot)reach
•WWDM(Wide‐Wavele ngth ‐DivisionMultiplexed)andMMFat1310nmwavelengthwitha
300‐meter(984‐foot)reach
•WWDMandSerialSMFat1310nmwavelength witha10‐kilometer(6‐mile)reach
SerialSMFat1550nmwavelength withrangesupto80kilometers(49.7miles)
• Copper,1000BASE‐T1.25GBdat1550nmwavelengthwitha100‐meter(328‐foot)reach
IOMsareequippedwiththeIBMPowerPC440GX,600GHzprocessorand512MBofmemory.
