Controlling the unit from a video editor

The following describes necessary settings for controlling the DV824 from an exter- nal video editor via P2/ES BUSS (RS-422).

Necessary setting (RS422 SETUP menu)

To control the DV824 from an external video editor, etc., you must make necessary settings via the "RS422 SETUP" menu of the MENU mode by following the procedure below.

1)While the unit is stopped, press the [ENTER/YES] key to enter the MENU mode.

2)Use the [MENU] dial to select the "RS422 SETUP" menu and press the [ENTER/ YES] key.

The display now shows the RS422 menu screen for selecting a menu item.

By using the [MENU] dial to select a desired menu item and pressing the [ENTER/ YES] key, you can make setting for the menu item. See the following for details of setting for each menu item.

RS422 remote setting (Selection of the device(s) controlling the DV824) You can select from among "Both" (default), "Local" and "Remote".

Use the [MENU] dial to select the desired option and press the [ENTER/YES] key to confirm your selection.

Both

You can control the unit from both panel keys and RS422 remote. This is the default setting.

 

 

Local

You can control the unit from panel keys. RS422 remote control is disabled.

 

 

Remote

You can control the unit from RS422 remote. Panel key control is disabled.
