DVD Multitrack Recorder DV824

Time code recording/playback (the optional Model 8348 required)

Recording time code

By installing the optional TC/SYNC card (Model 8348) to the DV824, you can record time code generated by the internal TC generator along with audio signals, or record incoming external time code. Furthermore, you can record internal generator time code which jams to external time code.

<Note>: You can make settings for time code recording/playback via the "TC SETUP"

menu on the MENU mode. See page 125 for details.

Frame rate setting

You can select the desired frame rate via the quick setup mode, as described on page 46. (You can also select the frame rate via the "Frame Rate" menu item in the "TC SETUP" menu of the MENU mode. See page 127.)

<Note>: When recording external time code, you can view time value and frame rate of external time code by selecting the time mode to "TC IN" using the [TIME SEL] key.

TC generator mode setting

Depending on the TC generator mode, the unit records time code differently.

You can select the desired TC generator mode via the quick setup mode, as described on page 47. (You can also select the TC generator mode via the "Gen Mode" menu item in the "TC SETUP" menu of the MENU mode. See page 128 for details.) The following four generator modes are available.

24H Run

When recording, the unit records time code based on the current internal

RTC (real-time clock) time.

When recording, the unit records time code which continues from the last

time code value of the previous audio file.

Rec Run

If you change to a new disk which does not have any audio file and make

recording, the unit records time code which continues from the last time

code value of the most recent audio file on the disk previously set.

Free Run

When recording, the unit records time code generated by the internal gen-

erator which runs freely.

EXT Run

When recording, the unit records the incoming external time code.
