Chapter 2 — Configuring the CN2G

Note: LEAP security is not supported with Microsoft security.

To enable LEAP security on your CN2G

1Make sure you have configured the communications and radio parameters on your CN2G.

2Make sure you have selected Funk as your security choice.

3From Intermec Settings, choose Communications > 802.11 Radio > Security Settings > Funk Security > Profile.

4For Authentication, Select LEAP and then tap Save.

5For Association, Select Open or Network EAP and then tap Save.

6For Encryption, Select WEP, and then tap Save.

7Select User name, type your user name, and then tap Save.

8Select Password prompt, choose Enter password now, and then tap Save.

Note: You can use Prompt for password to troubleshoot your connection to the network if you have problems.

9Select User Password, type a user password, and then tap Save.

10Exit Intermec Settings.

Using Static WEP Security

The CN2G uses the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol to add security to your wireless network based on the 802.11b standard.

To use WEP security, you need:

an access point with an 802.11b/g radio.

a CN2G handheld computer with an 802.11b/g radio.
