Chapter 4 — Troubleshooting and Maintaining the CN2G

Problems and Solutions

If you send the CN2G in for service, it is your responsibility to save the computer data and configuration. Intermec is responsible only for ensuring that the keypad and other hardware features match the original configuration when repairing or replacing your computer.

Problems While Operating the CN2G

Problem

You press the Power key to turn on the CN2G and nothing happens.

You press the Power key to turn off the CN2G and nothing happens.

The CN2G screen is not responding to the stylus.

Solution

Try these possible solutions in order:

Make sure the battery door is installed correctly and completely closed.

Make sure you have a charged battery installed correctly. For help, see “Installing and Charging the Battery” on page 4.

The battery may be discharged. Replace the battery with a spare charged battery, or charge the battery and try again.

To turn off (or suspend) the CN2G, you need to hold the Power key for approximately 2 seconds.

If the CN2G is processing data, it may not turn off when you press the Power key. Wait until the CN2G finishes processing.

If the CN2G appears to be locked up, warm boot the CN2G. For help, see “Warm Booting the CN2G” on page 73.

If the CN2G does not respond to a warm boot, see “Cold Booting the CN2G” on page 74.

Try these possible solutions in order:

Recalibrate the screen. For help, see “Calibrating the Screen” on page 13.

Press and hold the Power key for approximately 2 seconds, and then release it to turn off the CN2G. Press the Power key again to turn on the CN2G.
